Bassim was a dedicated
husband and father.
He and his sons shared many
activities and interests
together.
They often played volleyball
and softball and frequented
many sporting events.
They were avid Philadelphia
Flyers Fans (Ice Hockey).
Even I was known to attend
Baseball and Hockey games
with them although I
was often known to bring
a book along.
While sports may not
have been my first love,
Bassim always enjoyed these
outings more if
the whole family attended
so I often went just so
we could enjoy these times
together. I even played
volleyball and softball
with them for many years.
Little did I know
then just how precious and
few
these moments together
would be.
Since my interests were
more in the arts we also
frequently attended
the theatre and the orchestra
as
a family. On rarer
occasions we went to a ballet.
For one of my birthdays
Bassim gave me tickets
to attend a Baryshnikov
ballet. We had a lovely
evening and he was pleasantly
surprised that he
too enjoyed the performance.
Bassim was
always a very proud father.
Recently we attended Jeremy's
graduation from college
and then
Adam's graduation from High
School.
Bassim was so looking forward
to Jeremy's
graduation from graduate
school with a
Ph.D. in biochemistry and
then Adam's
graduation from college.
He truly enjoyed
these momentous events in
our sons' lives
